nothing new

Since it's been forever since I've updated this blog and especially since I have absolutely nothing new to share, I thought I'd re-post an easy and CHEAP fall decor idea.  I've been enjoying this garland again this year.  Here is another great idea.  For the past few years I've wanted to make an advent calendar.  There are so many different ideas and different ways to make them.  I think I'll finally make time this year to attempt that project!  Any ideas?

Check out this idea on Kristina's Blog. Not quite an advent calendar but a GREAT idea for remembering those fun days leading up to Christmas.

I love advent callendars, but don't really have any creative original ideas. I was given an advent callendar a couple years ago and it has little magnet pieces that you get to put up each day. Aaron really got into it last year and I'm sure will as well this year! Sorry I'm no help.

I do love the Thanksgiving banner you made though. I've wanted to make my own since you showed yours, but have yet to get it done. Maybe someday. I think I say that way too much!

I just want you to know that I made my first headband today!!!!! :) It turned out OK. I wanted to make one for each of my little neices who are coming to visit for Thanksgiving. We're going to be taking pictures of all the cousins and thought it would be adorable to have them wearing a headband. We're doing red, black, and white for our pictures and thought a black and red one would be great! Well, the only fabric that I found in those colors was some crushed velvet which is some very difficult fabric to work with. Like I said, it turned out OK, but I think I'm definitely going to try it again with a more sturdy fabric. I really like the pattern though! Thank you for the pattern and directions! Maybe once Megan starts to get hair again I'll have some made for her by then! Just thought I'd tell you the good news!

I wanted to make one this year, too! I was inspired by the one in the Pottery Barn catalog! We thought about using clear plastic to create a sleeve for photos from Christmas as well!

We see Grammy at Christmas and I've actually thought about using that as part of the countdown as well.
