dress-up skirt

This week I made this skirt for our neighbor, Maya.  She turned 2 and every little girl needs dress up clothes, right?  There's nothing simpler than this.  Gather a length of fabric (in this case I used the bottom 11" of a curtain I made 4 years ago) and sew it to a ribbon.  Tie it around the waist of your cutey and she can twirl all day!

I hit the mother-load tag sale today. An elderly widow quilter with TONS of fabric she was getting rid of. I pieced through everything, gathering what looked to be useable and cute...skipping past the mostly country crocks and cows. I filled a plastic grocery bag full...I just don't know what to do with it!?!?!? Can you come over and help!!?? :) Some are quilting squares size, some larger pieces. I am not in the ability to figure out a quilt, but I'd like to do some cute little projects/baby gifts with the scraps. I'll have to look through your blog here to refresh my ideas...what else do you do with your scraps????
